FORTUNE COOKIE RANCHO BERNARDO

One of North Counties best kept secrets is located in a strip mall in Rancho Bernardo. The Fortune Cookie is an upscale Chinese restaurant featuring a wide variety of entrees and a good sample of combination dinners.

The atmosphere is cool and pleasant, with white linen tablecloths and fresh roses on each table. If something on the walls captures your fancy, just check, it might be for sale. In addition to great food they also display the work of local artists.

There are many seating options available and armless chairs are no problem. The staff at The Fortune Cookie is out to ensure you have a pleasurable dining experience and go out of their way to provide you with one. It's this top of the line service, that makes The Fortune Cookie one of our favorite places to dine out.

Now lets get to the food. We recommend a party of four or more to allow you to sample as many of the dishes as you possibly can. Although the combination dinners will provide you with a wonderful meal from start to finish, we suggest you order a la carte. Start out with any of their appetizers, or if you are a shrimp lover, have them prepare the Salt & Pepper Shrimp as an appetizer. Yumm yumm.

They have one of the best hot and sour soups we have ever tasted. The wonton is also note worthy. The hardest part of dining at The Fortune cookie is deciding on which entrees to order. Nearly every item we have ordered has always been a delight. My mouth waters at the thought of their General Tso chicken, or any of the Mu Shu dishes. They also offer a nice selection of tasty vegetarian dishes. All selections come with your choice of steamed or fried rice. There is always plenty of food and you will argue who will be taking home the leftovers.

The Fortune Cookie is a bit expensive, but this is more than just a place to satisfy your appetite. It also gives you that little extra that makes dining out a pleasurable experience.
